Attend your perioperative care appointment
If you are on Aspirin, Coumadin (Warfarin), Jantoven, Plavix, Effient, Brilinta, Pradaxa, Xarelto, Eliquis, or any Anti-coagulant, Anti-platelet medication you need to discuss with your medical doctor, cardiologist, or perioperative care staff about the date to stop this medication prior to surgery. These medications will be resumed postoperatively when your surgeon decides it is safe.
Be extremely cautious with your legs several days prior to surgery. Cuts, scrapes and scratches on your operative leg can cause your surgery to be cancelled. Notify your surgeon should anything happen to your surgical leg prior to the day of surgery.
You will be given a bottle of antibacterial soap.
